Why PrivNote?

The internet is increasingly dominated by companies that harvest user data, train AI on private notes, and suffer from frequent data breaches. We believe that your thoughts, journals, and private notes belong to you and you alone. That's why we built PrivNote: an uncompromising, open-source alternative to mainstream note-taking apps.

How It Works

PrivNote relies entirely on Client-Side Encryption. When you type a note and lock it, your browser uses the Web Crypto API to generate an AES-GCM cipher based on your password. The plaintext is scrambled into unreadable gibberish before it ever touches your hard drive or the cloud. Because we don't have a backend server, we don't hold the key to decrypt it.

The "Bring Your Own Cloud" Approach

We solved the syncing problem without compromising privacy by letting you use infrastructure you already trust. By integrating directly with the Telegram and GitHub APIs from within the browser, you can back up your encrypted vault securely without passing through a middleman server.
